Tenerife, Spain - Budget Travel Guide

We all think of Tenerife as a “Summer holiday”, but it’s also a great Winter Sun destination! Whether you’re looking for a relaxing week or a party holiday – it really has something for everyone… So, here is my guide to holidaying in Tenerife without breaking the bank!

Getting There & Accommodation

So, this one is a bit different… For most European trips, I would usually recommend trying to source flights and accommodation separately as it often works out cheaper. However, when it comes to “beach holidays” that are marketed towards holidaymakers, these are often less expensive when booked as a package. I would recommend the following package holiday sites in terms of affordability:

Costa Adeje is a fab place for anyone looking for a relaxing, but not too quiet, holiday – it’s a great spot for families and couples. Here is a great package deal for only £370 per person for a week:

Things to Do

The great thing about Tenerife is that you don’t really need anything to do! Sitting at the pool or beach is “something to do” in itself so it’s really not a place where you’ll need to spend a lot on excursions. If you are looking for something a bit different to do, however, I would recommend:

- Kayaking and Snorkelling with Turtles 

This was honestly so cool and just something a bit different! £26 each

- Siam Park (Of Course! Couldn't write about Tenerife without it)

This one is slightly more expensive but it’s probably the best waterpark I’ve been to, it's literally massive - 100% worth it (Adults £37, Kids £27)

Overall

Most things, including food and drink, are really cheap in Tenerife – it’s not unusual to pay less than 5 euros for a full breakfast! So, I’d say for a budget week in Tenerife, you’ll only spend around £550-600!
