Getting There
Let's face it, flights to the South of France aren’t cheap – if you’re on a budget, you’re going to struggle if you are looking at flying into a tourist hotspot like Nice. This is where a little town called Nîmes comes in handy. If you can pack light, you can bag a return flight from Edinburgh to Nîmes with Ryanair for under £50!

Accommodation
Now that flights are sorted, where are you sleeping? Airbnb will be your best friend. Here are a list of some central accommodations available on Airbnb (all rated 4 star+):

Not to mention, all of the above are for 2 guests… This means that, if you’re taking a friend, your accommodation for the trip could be secured for £70 each!
Things to Do
Nîmes is a hidden gem - even walking around admiring it is enough to fill a day. But the main attraction is probably the “Arena of Nîmes”, where you can tour for 10 euros. I personally really enjoyed this, I thought that it was really interesting and reminded me of a mini Colosseum!

Once in Montpellier, you can even take a 30-minute bus trip to the beach for only €1.60 each way.
Overall
