Belfast, Northern Ireland - Budget Travel Guide

After a fun-filled, affordable short break in Belfast – a city packed with history and culture, here is my guide to exploring Belfast on a budget! I’d say a long weekend/a couple of days is a perfect amount of time to explore the city.

Getting There

We’re just across the water from Ireland, so you’re hardly even on the flight before getting back off it again… This means that the flights there are nice and cheap – which we love on this blog! This Ryanair return flight is only £30 – and it’s flying out on a Saturday too…

Accommodation

Here are some budget-friendly accommodations - all of these options are for two (or three) people so the price can be split:

- Premier Inn: £49 per night

- Holiday Inn: £80 per night

- Airbnb: £31 per night

- Airbnb: £97 per night (but sleeps 3!) - *highly recommended*

Things to Do

There are lots of fun budget-friendly things to do in Belfast! Here are a few of my personal favourites from our trip:

- Giant’s Causeway

This is a bus tour which lasts the entire day and takes you from the centre of Belfast to the famous landmark for under £20!!!

- Black Cab Tour

A bit more expensive but would 100% recommend this tour when in Belfast – so educational and interesting to see and learn about. We chose to go with Paddy Campbell’s (which was amazing) and is £25 each.

- The Crown Liquor Saloon

This one is free (sort of – you’ll just need to buy a drink) and it's the coolest pub you'll visit!

Overall

By following my guide, a cheap and cheerful few days in Belfast will only cost you around £200-250!
